The National Gallery of Australia in conjunction with the ACT Lieder Society and the ACT Multicultural Festival present an art-song repertoire from Germany, Hungary, France, Poland and Spain, performed by Rebecca Collins and Vivienne Winther.
This song recital is a unique opportunity to experience the riches of European culture through art, poetry and music.
The partnership of Rebecca Collins (soprano) and Vivienne Winther (piano) perform inspiring music by composers Schuman, Liszt, Duparc, Lutoslawski, Mompou and Bartok, harmonised with expressive poems by master writers of Europe, including Heinrich Heine and Victor Hugo.
Rebecca Collins and Vivienne Winther have entranced audiences and music critics alike and this presentation of European Songs will delight all music lovers.
Rebecca Collins, National ARIA winner, has sung operatic roles with Opera Queensland, Opera Australia and Opera Oz. She has performed in International festivals such as the Colorado Music Festival and AIMS Festival Graz Austria.
Vivienne Winther is Artistic Director of the Stopera, the ACT’s Chamber Opera Company and Music for Everyone, a community arts organisation. She has performed, accompanied and coached singers from Opera Australia, Beijing Central Opera, Cologne Opera, Goethe Institute, Pro Musica, ACT Friends of Opera and the ABC.
