The National Gallery of Australia (the Gallery) engages non-ongoing employees to fill short-term vacancies. Examples of areas where we fill positions on a short-term basis are:
- IT Support
- General administration
- Front of house
- Research Library
- Building Services
The duration of a non-ongoing vacancy may be anywhere from a couple of weeks, to up to 12 months, and engagements are at a range of classifications dependent upon the duties undertaken. Positions that are available for greater than 12 months are advertised on our website and/or in the Press.

Applications must include a completed Temporary Employment Register Form, and curriculum vitae. You are also encouraged to provide a statement outlining personal attributes, communication skills and your ability to work as a team member.
