The Arts is a suite of subjects that aims to enrich students’ understanding of the world through a range of sensory experiences and investigations. Engaging inartistic practice builds creative-thinking and problem-solving skills as well as technical ability with the body and a range of media. The Arts has a strong focus on critical thinking, encouraging students to be self-reflective when making both aesthetic and life choices. It is also often cross-disciplinary in approach, with many areas of exchange and collaboration between the arts.
The Arts encourages students to develop not only skills in producing works of art, musical compositions, dance pieces and so on but also skills for critically responding to the world.
