Dr Sketchy's Workshops
at NGA

The NGA now has an ongoing partnership with the Canberra branch of Dr Sketchy's. Established in 2005 Dr Sketchy's has branches in over a hundred cities around the globe, from Akron to Zagreb. Combining glamorous models, performance and drawing in a fun, welcoming atmosphere, Dr Sketchy's is the perfect place to get your fill of life-drawing.

Come and see what's under the bustle! Celebrate Tom Roberts in a unique way and draw glamorous models and performers from the colonial era in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.

Pay bar and light refreshments available.
$30, $25 concession, $20 members (includes first drink)
BYO materials welcome, some materials provided).

  • Paper/pads
  • Pencils
  • Brown paper bags

Materials permitted in this workshop:

  • Graphite/ lead Pencils
  • Coloured pencils
  • Oil pastels, crayons
  • Charcoal pencils/ sticks
  • Posca pens
  • Textas
  • Pens
  • Conte crayons

IMPORTANT: Please ensure the above materials are in a sealed container or bag when brought into the gallery. These materials are not normally permitted in the gallery (except graphite/lead pencils).

Materials not permitted in this workshop:

  • Easels
  • Acrylic paint
  • Oil paint
  • Spray paint
  • Liquid ink or watercolours
