The NGA now has an ongoing partnership with the Canberra branch of Dr Sketchy's. Established in 2005 Dr Sketchy's has branches in over a hundred cities around the globe, from Akron to Zagreb. Combining glamorous models, performance and drawing in a fun, welcoming atmosphere, Dr Sketchy's is the perfect place to get your fill of life-drawing.

Dr Sketchy's burlesque drawing:
Colour my world
Thursday 2 July | 6.30pm – 9.30pm | 18+


With special guest performers from the Australian Burlesque Festival. Draw underground models and performers in a fun, burlesque atmosphere, with body painting inspired by Colour my world.

Pay bar and light refreshments available. $30, $25 concession, $20 members (includes first drink, some materials provided, BYO materials welcome).

Materials permitted in this workshop:

  • Graphite/ lead Pencils
  • Coloured pencils
  • Oil pastels, crayons
  • Charcoal pencils/ sticks
  • Posca pens
  • Textas
  • Pens
  • Conte crayons

IMPORTANT: Please ensure the above materials are in a sealed container or bag when brought into the gallery. These materials are not normally permitted in the gallery (except graphite/lead pencils).

  • Acrylic paint

  • Spray paint
  • Liquid ink or watercolours
