Ruby Plains killing 1 1990 by Rover Thomas is one of a series of eight paintings that illustrate three incidents of conflict that occurred between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people earlier this century in the eastern Kimberley. The rich oral traditions of the Aboriginal people of the Kimberley have kept the memory of such incidents alive.
