Theme: Patriotic Duty Artist: Wendy SHARPE Birth/Death: Title: Shangrila, Suai Credit Line: Australian War Memorial, Canberra Wendy Sharpe travelled to East Timor in mid-December 1999, and visited Suai and the West Timor border. She made hundreds of drawings based on her observations of army life and the daily lives of the East Timorese in the wake of the horror brought about by their fight for independence.
