In The Bridge, October 1929 1930, Adelaide Perry created an image with typical attention to composition and 'bold, flat patterning'. It is a work of remarkable energy and rhythm. The swirling forms of the foreground trees and the ominous background clouds echo the shape of the arms of the Bridge as they reach out from either side of the Harbour.
