Theme: The Land Artist: FLAMINGO PARK Birth/Death: 1973 Title: Collar from Universal Opal Oz Credit Line: National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. The designer Jenny Kee uses the flamboyant colouration of the opal in an over-scaled, screen printed silk collar from the Universal Opal Oz range, produced by her fashion house, Flamingo Park. Its cheerful and knowingly ‘exotic’ design reflects the pleasure that this fiery precious stone brings to the legions of small prospectors toiling willingly under the landscape in the hope of instant wealth.
