Biography
KOPIETZ, Gunther, 1963

Gunther Kopietz was born in Melbourne in 1963. He obtained a Master of Fine Art in Sculpture from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 1987. He has held teaching positions at the National Art School, Sydney, RMIT, and Monash University. Kopietz has had seven solo exhibitions and his works included in numerous group shows including Sculpture at Seawinds, 2001; Royal Botanical Gardens Sculpture Walk, 1996; the Wynne Prize in 1997, 1995 and 1992; and the Mildura Sculpture Triennial, 1989. He received the St Kilda Visual Art Festival Award in 1986, and the Diamond Valley Art Award in 1989. Gunther Kopietz lives in North Warrandyte, Victoria.
