Biography
SWANN, Heather, 1961

Heather B. Swann was born in 1961 in Hobart, Tasmania. Between 1980 and 1982 she studied at the University of Tasmania and Griffith University, Queensland. Swann received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in printmaking, from the University of Tasmania in 1992. The following year she graduated with Honours in Sculpture from the same institution. She is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania. Since 1991 Swann has received several awards and commissions and has been actively exhibiting her work. She has had three solo exhibitions in 1994, 1996 and 1999. Awards and commissions include a sculpture commission in conjunction with the Tasmanian Art in Public Buildings scheme in 1997, a residency at CitÉ Internationale des Arts in Paris during 1998, and a sculpture commission for the Western Tiers Sculptural Trail in conjunction with National Parks Tasmania in 2001. Heather B. Swann lives and works in Hobart.
