Chris Henschke is a Melbourne based artist who has been working with digital media since 1993. His predominant areas of research are in experimental, virtual environments and interactive sound installations. His works have been shown in various Australian and international exhibitions, festivals and conferences including Sonic Residues 02 [Australian Centre for Contemporary Art], Videoformes 2000 [Clermont, France], Create Australia [National Gallery of Victoria, Australia], MILIA 99 [Cannes, France] and Vidarte Festival [Mexico City, Mexico].

Feature articles on his artworks have been published in Design Graphics magazine (issue 76) and Desktop magazine (issue 174) and the Australian Film Comission's Digital Australia 99 showcase book. He has won several awards including an ATOM International Multimedia award for the best virtual reality product. In 2002, he and three colleagues were awarded a grant from the Film Victoria Digital Media Fund to develop and produce a collaborative art project exhibited at Westspace gallery, Melbourne, Australia.

Having studied Psychology, Anthropology, Geology, Fine Art and New Media he has broad ranging interests in science and the arts. As well as working in sculpture and photography, Henschke has also been in several bands and other musical projects since 1990, including the noise-rock-jazz-funk band Crank (1992–96). He has performed his interactive works live in a diverse range of venues ranging from D-Art 01 (Australia, 2001) to Earthcore (Australia, 2001) and the Nuit des Musiques Electroniques (France, 2000).

His works Orchestra of Rust and Corroded Grooves have recently been acquired by the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.
