This small glass vase or flask, was excavated from the site of a Roman settlement at Pella, Jordan by a team from Sydney University and Wooster College. Made in the 4th century, it illustrates the refined style of glassmaking, resulting from technical achievements developed by the Romans since the 1st century. This object, like so much functional table glassware, was moulded from naturally-coloured greenish-blue glass
