The NGA is located in the heart of Canberra, near Parliament House, the High Court of Australia and next door to the National Portrait Gallery. You can also get to the NGA from the path around Lake Burley Griffin if you walk through the Sculpture Garden.
Underground paid parking is available via Parkes Place off King Edward Terrace. The above ground car park off Bowen Drive is available for parking on weekends only.
Paid parking applies only on weekdays until 5pm, weekend parking is free.
There's parking for people with limited mobility in both car parks. Assisted lift access to the NGA is available from the underground car park.

There are 15 bikes racks in total at the NGA. Ten are located at the base of the ramp at street level and there are five more closer to Lake Burley Griffin, near the Sculpture Garden.
