BIOGRAPHY | PREVIOUS

In 1827, Captain James Stirling explored the Swan River with a view to establishing a colony there. The drawing Swan River c.1829 depicts the area where Stirling’s party camped overnight during their expedition. It was made in London as a basis for the wood-engraving, Swan River 1830.
