The National Gallery of Australia Research Library and Archives is a specialist library which comprises professional, technical and administrative staff and is responsible for appropriate services to meet the research needs of the National Gallery’s professional staff, volunteers, visiting researchers and the public.
The Library and Archives Assistant will work collaboratively within the Research Library and Archives team to contribute to an effective and efficient library and archives service. In this position you will work in a small team to help deliver innovative, effective and efficient library and archives services.
You will have the opportunity to undertake and be trained in, a variety of tasks including reader services, archive processing and collection management.
You will also assist with general administration, collection maintenance, filing and shelving which require someone who is physically capable of moving boxes of materials and moving heavy books.
This is a full-time ongoing employment opportunity within the Research Library and Archives Department, Learning and Digital Portfolio. The Library and Archives Assistant will work at both the main National Gallery site at Parkes and at the National Gallery’s offsite storage facility.
