OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Together with the Publishing Manager, and as part of the Publishing team, the Publishing Assistant Manager is responsible for delivering the National Gallery’s Annual publishing list. Working to schedules and budgets set by the Publishing Manager, the Publishing Assistant Manager works with multiple internal and external contributors to deliver publications from manuscript to print, ensuring quality, clarity, creativity, authenticity, and consistency is achieved throughout the project.
As well as overseeing publication deliverables, the position is responsible for creating and maintaining Gallery style guides, editorial guidelines and procedures to support the Gallery’s Publishing Strategy.
An order of merit may be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

The role of Publishing Assistant Manager is a fixed-term, full-time role for a 2-year period, and sits within the Creative Studio team.
