The Kenneth E. Tyler Collection

From 1966 until 2001 master printer Kenneth Tyler collaborated with some of the most influential artists of the twentieth century on projects that pushed the artistic and technical boundaries of printmaking. The National Gallery of Australia's Kenneth Tyler Print Collection is the most comprehensive collection of post-war American art outside the United States, comprising over 7400 editioned prints, proofs, drawings, paper works, screens, multiples and illustrated books as well as a collection of rare candid photography, film and audio. The collection website is a rich source of information on American printmaking and printmakers from the second half of the twentieth century.

Reflections on a life in print: Kenneth Tyler in conversation

The artist Frank Stella stands with a cigar in hand bemusedly tilting his head as he interogates his recent masterpieces in print. Nearby the master printer Kenneth Tyler muses on the quality of the paper on which he has printed. His gigantic mustache seems to weigh him down heavily, judging by his posture.
