Printmaking

Four men looking at paper with freshly printed artwork on it

Kenneth Tyler’s philosophy of working with the best artists and pushing them “to make demands on the medium”1 lead to an environment of collaboration and innovation. Printers and artists worked together to broaden techniques, advance technologies, and expand the possibilities of printmaking.

The Kenneth E. Tyler Collection contains ample opportunities for learning and research. These resources investigate how and why these works were created to promote innovations in the field of printmaking and beyond.

Nearby the master printer Kenneth Tyler muses on the quality of the paper on which he has printed. His gigantic mustache seems to weigh him down heavily, judging by his posture.
