Join us as we discover the rich and diverse world of Emily Kam Knwarray an Anmatyerr matriarch of Alhalker Country in the homelands of the Utopia Community in the Northern Territory. Kngwarray was born in the early twentieth century and was known to her family by the name Kam. Over the course of this immersive audio tour, we'll explore her close connections to her homelands and its associated stories. These are revealed in her batiks and paintings that are unprecedented in Australian art.
Our focus goes beyond the artworks as we journey into the heart of Alhalker and reveal the insightful impact of an art movement that emerged from this extraordinary Country.
