Australian Art with Elspeth Pitt
For parents and carers with babies in arms
Free, booking essential
Duration: 45 minutes
Join Elspeth Pitt, Senior Curator, Australian Art, for a talk in the Australian art collection especially designed for carers and their babies.
In the spirit of Know My Name, this special floor talk will have a focus on women and gender diverse artists in the National Gallery’s Australian Art collection.
Parents and carers are encouraged to attend with their babies, and we will have tactile objects available to help keep babies engaged during the floor talk.
Breastfeeding is welcomed throughout the Gallery and a Parents Room is also available on Level 1. There is easy pram access (including lifts) and infants may be carried in a soft baby carrier on the front or back.
Please meet staff at the Main Entry of the Gallery at 11am. We will then head up to Gallery 24 (level 2) together for an 11.15am start.
The talk is timed for Australian Breast-Feeding Awareness Week. All parents and carers are welcome to attend.
