Horace Samson arrived in Western Australia in 1841 and was employed as a draughtsman and lithographer with the Land and Survey Department, Perth from around 1848 to 1854, when he left for Melbourne. This lithograph depicts the view between Arthur’s Head and St John’s Anglican Church on a windy day.
