Foundation members are vital to the life of the National Gallery, and they experience firsthand how their support contributes to the development of the visual arts in Australia.

If you donate more than $1000 in cash or works of art accumulatively, you will automatically become a member of the National Gallery Foundation.

The Foundation is the umbrella organisation for all Gallery benefactor groups and raises funds and secures gifts of works of art to support the vision of the National Gallery and to develop the national collection for all Australians.

The Foundation is a registered charity and provides official receipts for tax purposes. See current Foundation Board.

American Friends of the National Gallery of Australia

The American Friends of the National Gallery of Australia (AFNGA) is an independent charitable organisation and gifts may be made to AFNGA to achieve tax deductibility in the USA.

Periodically, the American Friends contribute towards National Gallery exhibitions, programs and acquisitions. Over the last 39 years, the American Friends have provided long-term loans of works of art to the National Gallery.

AFNGA hosts a range of cultural and artistic events throughout the year to foster greater cross-cultural understanding between the United States and Australia.

For more information or to make a bequest, a tax-deductible donation or to gift a work of art through the AFNGA, please head to https://www.afnga.org/.
