Vivienne Binns is one of Australia’s most senior artists and a fundamental practitioner of the Women’s Art Movement in the 1970s. Binns is represented in the exhibition Know My Name: Australian Women Artists 1900 to Now with Tower of Babel (1989-) one of the longest running community arts projects in Australia. In this work, Binns exchanges with each participant an original work of art for a wooden box that is filled in any way they choose.
