National Engagement
We want to hear from you.
Key information
Your National Gallery. Your national collection.
We are developing a National Engagement Plan to shape the way we engage Australians across the country with their national art collection.
The National Gallery is Australia’s national visual arts institution dedicated to collecting, sharing and celebrating art from Australia and the world. The national collection comprises over 155,000 works of art, including the world’s largest collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.
The National Gallery plays an important role in the service of all Australians through its base in Canberra. Expansive collection displays are accompanied by a dynamic program of exhibitions, national tours, an extensive collection loan program, and through education, outreach and cultural events that celebrate creative practice and deepen lifelong learning.
