Dr Nathan Emmerich on Body Sculpture
Duration: 45 minutes including Q&A
Join bioethicist, Dr Nathan Emmerich, for a talk about the connections between medicine, medical education and Jordan Wolfson’s Body Sculpture. Dr Emmerich will interpret and respond to Body Sculpture as someone who is involved in medical education and the delivery of ARTMED, a collaboration between the National Gallery and the Australian National University (ANU). This innovative programme brings medical students to the gallery to further their medical education and professional development though engagement with works of art.
Dr Nathan Emmerich is a bioethicist whose research primarily focuses on medical ethics. In his role as lead for Professionalism and Learning in the Phase 1 of ANU’s Doctor of Medicine and Surgery Degree (MChD), he co-organises the ARTMED programme with Adriene Boag, Access Programs Convenor, at the National Gallery.
