Deborah Hart on Ethel Carrick
Free, bookings essential.
Duration: 45 min including Q&A
Join Deborah Hart, Head Curator, Australian Art, for a tour of the exhibition Ethel Carrick.
Deborah will provide insights into the life and work of Ethel Carrick (1872–1952) to reveal her adventurous spirit, her commitment to the war effort and her great abilities as a colourist.
Many of Carrick’s vibrant, painterly scenes of markets, gardens and beaches were among the first post-impressionist paintings to be exhibited in Australia. A great travel artist, her art was undertaken in diverse locations in France, Australia, Britain, North Africa and India.
Friday Art Talks is a free weekly program. Hear from artists, curators and experts on the works in our collection and exhibition program.
This talk is part of a series focused on the major exhibitions Ethel Carrick and Anne Dangar on display in Gallery 12 until 27 Apr 2025.
