Here’s My Hand: A Testimony to an Aboriginal Memorial
Join us in the James Fairfax Theatre for a free screening of the 1988 documentary created with the Ramingining Community on The Aboriginal Memorial (1987 – 88).
Conceived by Djon Mundine OAM, Bandjalung peoples, with 43 artists from Ramingining and surrounding communities in Central Arnhem Land, The Aboriginal Memorial commemorates all First Nations people who, since 1788, have lost their lives defending their land. In June, Ramingining community and Commissioning Curator Djon Mundine OAM with local Ngambri and Ngunnawal Custodians sang in The Aboriginal Memorial in its new location at the heart of the National Gallery.
