Following the international success of Stalin’s Piano, virtuoso pianist Sonya Lifschitz and composer Robert Davidson create a series of musical portraits spanning centuries of female leaders, scientists and artists.
Weaving together archival footage, narrative and melody, Lifschitz and Davidson have created a new audio-visual work telling the stories of women who have shaped our culture, our societies, and our world.
Characters as diverse as Nina Simone, Marie Curie, Patti Smith, Dame Nellie Melba, Greta Thunberg and Sonya's own Ukrainian grandmother feature in stories of people bringing their fullest selves to the challenges of convention, danger, inertia and prejudice.
