Taste is on the tongue: Body Sculpture and the 11 senses of yoga
with Alan Goode from Yoga Mandir
Duration: 45 minutes including Q&A
Join Director of Yoga Mandir yoga studio, Alan Goode, for a look at the 11 senses (indryas) of yoga alongside Jordan Wolfson’s Body Sculpture. In this talk Alan will explore the role that the mind plays in determining how we perceive the world. He will discuss how the senses interact actively with objects, rather than receiving the world passively. The talk will consider where experience is formed. Does taste exist in the object or on the tongue?
Alan Goode is a direct student of BKS Iyengar, one of the most influential teachers of Yoga in the last century. Yoga has been Alan’s vocation for almost 50 years, and he has spent his life practising and teaching this ancient subject. Yoga is deeply concerned with what it means to be human and questions how we perceive and understand the world around us.
