Curators, Carol Cains, Rebecca Edwards and Shaune Lakin introduce a new collection display which focuses on artists inspired by the natural world.
Carol Cains (Senior Curator, Asian and Pacific Art) introduces the display and speaks about Yayoi Kusama’s Pumpkin (M) 2016. Rebecca Edwards (Curator, Australian Art) focuses on the biomorphic carved sculptures of Inge King and Danila Vassilief, and Shaune Lakin (Senior Curator, Photography) introduces AES+F’s video installation Last Riot 2007. The talk considers how these artists respond to nature as a way to understand the cosmos and their personal relationship with their environment.
Nature is on display in Gallery 16 until 3 August 2025.
