THE POSITION
This position reports to The Henry Dalrymple Head Curator, Australian Art, and Senior Curator, Australian Art. The Curator works within the Australian Art Department, contributing to the:
- Development
- Display
- Research
- Interpretation and
- Promotion of the collection.
The Curator also works collaboratively with members of the Department to strengthen and encourage new ways of understanding and connecting with art and artists.
The Curator, Australian Art position is responsible for contributing to the development and presentation of projects and exhibitions that forge new perspectives. The Curator will also contribute to writing and research to ensure the ongoing positioning of the National Gallery as a place of scholarship and curatorial excellence.
The Curator will work collaboratively with peers and colleagues through national and international networks to foster relationships with artists and to grow the value of the collection, ensuring its greatest possible reach and impact.
This is a full-time, ongoing employment opportunity available within the Artistic Programs Portfolio.
