OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The occupant of this position reports to and provides curatorial and organisational assistance to the Senior Curator in Prints and Drawings (which comprises prints, posters, illustrated books and drawings, watercolours, pastels, collages and sketchbooks from Australia and New Zealand). The Department comprises a small team of two permanent curators and the Curatorial Assistant Gordon Darling Graduate Intern. The successful candidate will play a key role in the management and display of the collection and a coordinating role within the department and will be able to:
- Provide professional assistance in relation to the acquisition and exhibition of Australian Prints and Drawings, also undertaking research, writing and oral presentations;
- Under guidance, set and achieve priorities, monitor workflows, develop procedures and work practices and manage resources;
- Exercise a degree of independent judgment and resolve workplace issues; provide on the job training and performance management when required.
