Black and White image of Gina Tomao

Gina Tomao, 1968.

Photographer: Charles Bragg.

Gina Tomao was represented by the Felix Landau Gallery in Los Angeles, one of the early arts establishments to appear on La Cienega Boulevard, the street that was to become the heart of the city’s art scene in the 1960s. Tomao’s sensitively rendered lithographic portraits, Girl’s head and Rabbi, were commissioned by the Felix Landau Gallery and published by Tyler at Gemini Ltd. in 1966.

In later life Gina Tomao changed her name to Jennie Tomao and continued an artistic practice that focused on portraiture and still life.
