Anne O’Hehir on Queer women artists in the Collection Study Room
Women artists in focus
Join Anne O’Hehir (Curator, Photography) in the Collection Study Room for a close look at Queer women’s photography in the national collection.
In this behind-the-scenes Art Talk, O’Hehir will show works by Modernist women in the collection who were working in Europe in the 1920s and 1930s and were considered radical in both their photography and their lives.
This is an opportunity to see works by Florence Henri, Gisèle Freund, Berenice Abbott and Claude Cahun that are not currently on display the Gallery.
Booking essential, spaces limited.
Art Talk is a free weekly program. Hear from artists, curators and experts on the works in our collection and exhibition program. Art Talks in March focus on women artists in celebration of International Women’s Day.
This program is wheelchair accessible and four assistive listening devices will be available for attendees who are hard of hearing. Please email access@nga.gov.au for more information.
