Come with us on an adventure to a new future with Terminus.
This digital workshop, led by contemporary artist Simon Ward, will take you on a ride through the building blocks of virtual reality to create your own computer generated animation collage.
Simon Ward is a video maker and animator from Wellington, New Zealand. Together with Jess Johnson, they created the work Terminus, a mysterious universe of alien architecture populated by humanoid clones and cryptic symbols, explored via a network of travellators and gateways.
Terminus is touring Australia and it is exhibited at Hazelhurst Arts Centre, Sydney from 25 June to 28 August 2022.
You will need
- Your own internet-connected computer, laptop or device with webcam and in-built microphone or Bluetooth speaker
- Access to and ability to sign into web platform Zoom
- Latest version of the free graphics program Blender, pre-installed and running on your computer. More Information about how to download and install Blender.
- A 3 button (left-right-centre) USB mouse and keyboard with a number pad are highly advisable items to have for this Art Lab. They'll make going through the learning tasks easier for the participants.

Download a package of assets from Terminus. You will receive the package via email a week prior to the workshop.
