Vassilieff
12 Oct 1985 – 2 Feb 1986
About
This exhibition is the first serious retrospective of Vassilieff's work since 1959, the year after his death. Twenty—five years later, and with the benefit of art historical research by the ANG's curator, Felicity St John Moore, it is possible to present a balanced, coherent and impartial view of his art. The works in this exhibition have been drawn almost equally from private and public collections and concentrate on the periods when each of the respective media — painting, sculpture and watercolour — was Vassilieff's predominant form of expression.
