Support our Annual Appeal Cézanne to Giacometti
Inspire a generation of art lovers through some of history’s greatest artists – support our 2024 Annual Appeal
In 2025, the major international exhibition Cézanne to Giacometti: Highlights from Museum Berggruen / Neue Nationalgalerie will be presented at the National Gallery in Kamberri/Canberra.
Featuring stunning highlights from Berlin’s Museum Berggruen / Neue Nationalgalerie, the exhibition includes works by Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Paul Klee, Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti. With more than 100 works, many of which will be shown in Australia for the first time, the exhibition will show European modernism in its most striking forms.
The National Gallery’s vision is for as many people as possible to experience and learn from this exhibition, particularly young Australians who will benefit from learning about this fundamental part of global art history.
With your help, we will be able to enhance the impact of the exhibition with:
- the creation of a new arts education program, offered free to all school children, to stretch their imaginations and build visual literacy skills, with a guided tour to lead engaging conversations.
- a complimentary copy of the exhibition publication for every school class who visits the exhibition, to facilitate learning and ongoing engagement long after they have experienced the artworks in person.
- the development of an artist-led activity space within the exhibition for the enjoyment of all visitors.
- A new Art and Dementia online program offered free for people living with dementia and their care partners.
If we reach our target of $200,000, we will be able to achieve our goal to offer free entry for all visitors under the age of 16.
Your donation will ensure as many people as possible can experience and learn from these seminal works of art visiting Australia for the first time.
