Simeran Maxwell, Curator, Australian Art, explores innovation in Australian Fashion. In this talk, Maxwell shares how Australian designers have used text to champion inclusivity and representation and communicate important social messages.
In recent years, the National Gallery has focused on collecting work in the sphere of art/fashion and sculptural, boundary-pushing design. The acquisitions of contemporary designers DI$COUNT UNIVER$E, Romance Was Born and Iordanes Spyridon Gogos demonstrate overlapping ideas which are at the forefront of Australian fashion design today.
