Duration: 60 mins

This year the National Gallery’s Annual Lecture is presented by leading African American contemporary artist Kara Walker, whose practice explores the complex narratives of race, gender, and sexuality.
The lecture coincides with Project 2: Kara Walker, the first monographic exhibition of Walker’s art to be held in Australia.
Kara Walker will speak with Bundjalung and Kullilli journalist, Daniel Browning, host of ABC’s The Art Show on Radio National. Together they will situate the artist’s work within an international and national context, unpacking the way in which North American histories echo across the world.
This event will be presented online and will be Auslan interpreted.
Pay what you wish (between $5–$100) to watch online. Ticket sales close at 4pm on the day of event.
