Join Kalaw Lagaw Ya/Meriam Mir artist, Janet Fieldhouse in conversation with Tina Baum (Gulumirrgin/Larrakia/Wardaman/ Karajarri), Curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art followed by a workshop with the artist to make your own charm doll inspired by her new sculpture, Sister Charm.
This special event celebrates the launch of Janet Fieldhouse’s new sculpture Sister Charm, the second commission in the National Gallery x Art Makers series. Janet Fieldhouse is known for her intricate and small-scale sculptures in clay. This large-scale work for the National Gallery’s Sculpture Garden will be her most ambitious work to date.
The workshop will use air-dry clay, raffia and found objects and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. All children must be accompanied by a participating adult. No previous ceramics experience required.

Participants are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the sculpture garden between the talk and workshop.
