How is appropriation related to power? Learn about appropriation while gaining insights into how and why contemporary artists work to shift power dynamics. Discuss a selection of works by Sāmoan artists Yuki Kihara and Greg Semu, and Māori artist Lisa Reihana in context with paintings by French artist Paul Gauguin.

The excursion aligns with the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 and is designed for:
- Year 7 – 10 students and may be adapted for use with other year levels
- Visual Arts students, with relevance to Media Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and English learning areas
- Students developing general capabilities, including Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social capability, Ethical Understanding, Intercultural Understanding and Information and Digital Literacy.
