Art Live
Art Live is a free event that delivers encounters with art in a festival-like environment, exclusively for young audiences aged 15 to 25.
Expect immersive experiences, artist-led workshops, performances and live music inspired by art, artists and ideas from the national collection.
Developed in collaboration with the National Gallery Youth Council, Art Live happens twice a year onsite at the National Gallery as well as online and on tour.

We are looking for young musicians & performers aged 13 to 25, to showcase their talent at our Art Live youth events. Art Live: All Stars
The portrait painting workshop led by Vincent Namatjira and Ben Quilty, two of Australia's foremost contemporary portrait artists and Archibald Prize winners, was the highlight of Art Live: All Stars. From crafting collage photobooks to enjoying the superstar photobooth, the event also showcased performances from some of Australia's best emerging rock bands.
Art IRL: Lucky Charm!
Art IRL: Lucky Charm! celebrated the unveiling of Sister Charm, by Kalaw Lagaw Ya/Meriam Mir artist, Janet Fieldhouse with charm doll making with the artist in the Australian Garden. Tina Baum (Gulumirrgin (Larrakia)/Wardaman/Karajarri peoples), Senior Curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art, led a tour of the national collection through spooky ghost and spiritual stories. Fresh Funk shared their spooky choreography. Make-up artists shared the secrets behind crafting chilling makeup effects.
